Modern Dance

“Dance, as a human art form, is capable of expressing all aspects of humanity.”   ~ Doris Humphrey

 

Develop your physicality and personal expressiveness in this Modern Dance Class that approaches movement as an exploration of energy, space and time. Learn to appreciate the natural impulse of breath as a motivator and sustainer of movement, as well as the body’s response to the “pull” of gravity. Basic movements will follow the fundamentals of classic modern methods such as the Humphrey/Limón technique, though improvisation is also encouraged. The possibilities are as infinite as movement itself!

 

Classes are mixed level and 75 minute long. Some dance experience is helpful, though not required.

Class includes floor barre, center floor work and across-the-floor combinations.

 

Fall Session Details

Classes are held on Mondays at 12pm.

The cost is $25 for a single class or $200 for 10 classes.

Prenatal/Postnatal Fitness

This unique class is for mamas who want to maintain OR regain strength and well-being. With a perfect balance of yoga, cardio, and strength training, Meghan will help mamas (prenatal and postnatal) reclaim their bodies safely and effectively. Emphasis is on core strength, weight management, and pelvic floor control. All classes are approximately 60 minutes in length.

Toddler Yoga

This class is designed to help toddlers develop fundamental movement skills through yoga, dance, and creative play. Parents or caregivers are encouraged to participate as we stretch, jump, and boogie our way to a life-long love of fitness. Classes are 45 minutes in length, and designed for toddlers 18 months through 3 years old. Please be sure to contact Meghan if you are interrested in this class!

   

Fall Session Details

Classes are held on Saturdays at 10am.

   

Classes will begin on January 23rd, 2016, and will run for 8 week.

 
 

Adult Beginning Ballet 

Learning to move with grace and joy! 

This class makes ballet enjoyable and accessible for adults, integrating grace, musicality, line, performance quality and expression. It is for all people who love and admire the art of classical ballet and wish to experience its joy and beauty! Classes are approximately 75 minutes long. Classes are held on Fridays from 11:30am to 12:45pm. Possible Wednesday class from 10am to 11:15am to come.

Teen Ballet 

Learning to move with confidence, ease and grace!

This class is positive, joyful, and edifying experience to help young dancers develop into healthy, confident, sensitive, aware young people. Classes are approximately 75 minutes long.
